Rates

Writing: Quotes for writing projects reflect fair current rates for expert professional services and vary with project requirements. Per-item rates may be quoted for specific-length materials (e.g., radio commercials); hourly or project rates may be quoted for other writing projects. Please contact me to discuss your project.

Editing: Quotes for editing reflect fair current rates for expert professional consulting services. Quotes are by the project or by the page and vary with the project requirements and the editorial service provided. For the comprehensive editing of a 300-page (75,000-word) manuscript, my project fees range from $2,500 to $5,000 (US). Smaller projects, or those involving lesser levels of editing, generally incur proportionately smaller project fees; quotes for less than $500 are common for short (30-page) materials that require clarification editing but not full comprehensive editing services.

E-mail requests for ballpark estimates are always welcome, but no firm quotes will be provided for unexamined projects. I guarantee all project quotes, and thus I make quotes only upon examining representative materials.

Scheduling

Scheduling of projects is flexible. Fast turnarounds are standard, and "emergency service" will be considered on a case-by-case basis. I provide professional communications services with a client-centered approach, which demands reasonable scheduling.

Contracts

For the satisfaction and peace of mind of the client (and me), I prefer to develop a written contract detailing the services to be provided, the schedule, the rate, and any limitations or caveats. On smaller projects, however, it is possible to work with a verbal contract.
